Soil Biology Testing
Healthy soils teem with beneficial soil microorganisms that improve soil structure and fertility. Our lab’s Soil Foodweb microbiological assessments give you an accurate reading of your soil health by analyzing the population and diversity of organisms in your soil. Our lab uses the Soil Foodweb methods developed by Dr. Elaine Ingham. These tests can give you an accurate snapshot of your soil health so that you can create a biological management plan for your land and track your progress toward optimal soil fertility.
Soil Chemistry Analysis
Our laboratory chemical analysis evaluates the levels of nutrients in your soil or compost and liquid compost extracts and teas. pH, Organic matter and nutrients are essential to plant growth, any deficiencies in any one nutrient can limit overall performance. Creating a balanced soil chemistry allows for proper aeration, drainage and provides an ideal environment for beneficial soil biology and plant growth.
Interpretations and Recommendations

Soil Chemistry Analysis
Harrington’s certified Soil Food Web Laboratory offers chemistry analysis of your soils which evaluates the levels of nutrients in your soil. You receive organic recommendations that when followed help rebuild and revitalize the health of your soil making your lawn more resistant to drought, insects, diseases, and weeds.
Soil samples are taken in four places around your yard to give an accurate reading of your soil’s nutrient composition. Nutrients are essential to lawn and plant growth, any deficiencies in any one nutrient can limit overall performance. Creating a balanced soil chemistry allows for proper aeration, drainage and provides an ideal environment for beneficial soil biology and growth.
Your soil test allows us to create tailored recommendations specific to the needs of your landscape.
Following these recommendations will bring your nutrient levels into balance and provide ideal conditions for your landscape to thrive.
We provide a price quote for us to provide these additional amendment recommendations for you. It is easy to schedule these additional services along with your Plant Healthcare or Lawn Care Program.
